OWN Greenlights The Hero Effect
Posted by Becca      October 11, 2016      News, Projects, The Hero Effect

Great news Emily fans we get to see our girl on tv again soon in what sounds like an amazing project! One that she’s been working on for a year now!

OWN has greenlit “The Hero Effect,” an inspirational docuseries from nonprofit United Way Worldwide and Dolphin Entertainment, Variety has learned exclusively.

“The Hero Effect” showcases stories of ordinary individuals who are making extraordinary differences in their communities. Each episode is shot on location in different communities across the country. The real-life stories, presented by United Way — the world’s largest privately-funded nonprofit — build on the company’s mission to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community.

The 10-episode series will be co-hosted by NFL star and “Dancing with the Stars” winner Donald Driver, along with actress Emily Wilson.

“Throughout my 35 years of working with communities at United Way, I’ve learned that the vast majority of people are eager to make the world a better place,” said Brian Gallagher, president and CEO of United Way Worldwide. “The men and women featured in ‘The Hero Effect’ are our local heroes, stepping forward to make a difference in their communities. We’re incredibly inspired by their work and excited to help share them and their efforts with the world.”

Each of the “heroes” featured were nominated from the 1,200 United Ways in the country. Dolphin Entertainment also vetted many organizations and initiatives, to ultimately find the best stories for the series.

The first season will cover issues including veterans services, human trafficking, early childhood education and foster care children.

“Our hope is to create a ripple effect and inspire viewers through the stories and personal journeys of our featured heroes to optimize their own potential,” said Bowman.

“The Hero Effect” will air on the second Saturday of every month 10 a.m., beginning on Nov. 12. Each Saturday morning, two back-to-back episodes will air.

As we get more information about the project we will be sure to pass it on.

Emily Wilson is Returning to GH For the Holidays!!!
Posted by Becca      November 18, 2015      General Hospital, News

GENERAL HOSPITAL has confirmed that Emily Wilson will be bringing Ellie back to Port Charles for the holidays, and she’s bringing Georgie along with her, still played by Harper Barash, the real-life daughter of Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and Brandon Barash (Johnny)!

We’re hearing that GH is planning on doing a Toys For Tots charity event but at this point the actual airdates aren’t known, and neither is the duration of her visit. Who else would you like to see return for the holidays?

Ellie And Spinelli Ride Into The Sunset!
Posted by Becca      May 07, 2015      General Hospital, Interviews, News

Spixie fans, ’tis true, your favorite GENERAL HOSPITAL couple is no more. Maxie and Nathan kissed and made up, while Spinelli shouted his unrelenting, absolute love and devotion to Ellie. SpEllie went their way (back to Portland) and Naxie went theirs (back to her place!).

Is there any glimmer of hope that they’re suffering from temporary insanity or this is all a dream sequence that they’ll wake from in a few days? Sorry, Spixians, no. But what’s your loss is certainly the gain of SpEllie and Naxie shippers!

“When I got the phone call that I got to go back and fight for my man, I was excited because I do think Spinelli and Ellie make a good couple,” says ginger-haired cutie, Emily Wilson. “The way he literally swept her off her feet at the end was a nice kind of ‘re-happy ending.’ The last time we left, it was unclear whether Spinelli was really making that decision because he wanted to or because he felt like that’s what he should do. This time it was done in a way where it can’t leave a doubt in anybody’s mind that he wants to be with Ellie because that’s where his heart is.”

That said, it most definitely does not mean you’ve seen the last of Wilson or Bradford Anderson (Spinelli). The Jackal is the father of Maxie’s baby and Ellie did have a sweet friendship brewing with Nathan. Both actors are not only on board for future visits to Port Charles — they’d love it!

“I’m always happy to receive a phone call asking to come back. I would do that in a heartbeat!” Wilson cheers. Anderson seconds that motion and raises with an enthusiastic, “Sure! The time away from the character made me love him even more and made coming back to play him even more fun. I hope they’ll call me when they have an idea they’re excited about!”

Emily Guest Appearance on Castle Information
Posted by Becca      January 10, 2014      Castle, News

As previously reported, “General Hospital’s” Emily Wilson (ex-Ellie Trout) announced that she will be appearing in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Castle,” which Soap Opera Network has since learned will air on Monday, January 27.

In the episode entitled “Dressed To Kill,” Wilson will appear in the role of Grace Jacobs, who is described as a young woman that grew up reading Modern Fashion with the dream of working for its editor Matilda King (Frances Fisher; ”The Edge of Night,” “Days of our Lives”).

Per an episode breakdown, “When the assistant to Modern Fashion Magazine’s dictatorial editor Matilda King is found murdered, Castle [Nathan Fillion] and Beckett [Stana Katic] are thrust into the glitzy, ruthless world of high fashion in their search for the killer. Meanwhile Beckett’s history in the modelling world gets her access to a very special wedding surprise.”

In addition to Wilson and Fisher, the episode will include guest appearances by Rob Estes (“Days of our Lives,” “Melrose Place”) as Julian Bruckner, Danny Max (“The Bold and the Beautiful”) as Justin, Angelique Cinelu as Lola and Rex Lee (“Entourage,” “Suburgatory”) as Yumi.

“Castle” airs Mondays at 10:00 PM ET/PT on ABC.

Emily to Exit GH with Bradford Anderson.
Posted by Becca      December 12, 2013      General Hospital, News

I am so upset to have to report that Emily will be leaving General Hospital.

Say goodbye to Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), Ellie (Emily Wilson) and Baby Connie. The trio will exit Port Charles for Portland next week on General Hospital. Head writer Ron Carlivati confirmed the news in the December 23 issue of Soap Opera Digest.

Anderson, who had been with the sudser since 2006, opted to go off-contract last May. According to Digest’s sources, Anderson agreed to remain with the soap through the denouement of the Spixie/Lante custody drama. Wilson was always on recurring with the soap.

Please be assured that this site will remain! We’re here to support Emily in whatever she does not just her role on General Hospital. I will however greatly miss Ellie! And I will always wonder what more they could have done with this wonderful character that we got to know over the last year. Best wishes to Bradford Anderson also. I know both he and Emily will continue to amazing things! And I will follow Em to whatever she does next! Emily has already booked her first post GH role with a guest spot on ABC’s Castle. When we have more information on the guest spot I will be sure to post.
